The Fairtrade Website states that Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. And with a vision
of a world in which justice and sustainable development are at the heart of trade structures and practices so that everyone, through their work, can maintain a decent and dignified livelihood and develop their full potential.
At All Saints Church Nicky Davies runs our Fairtrade stand by supplying numerous products from coffee to toilet rolls and everything in between. These products come from Traidcraft, a long term supplier of goods from around the world ranging from consumables to various ethnic craft products.
Fairtrade at All Saints is also supported through Driffield Methodist Church, the Roman Catholic Church in Pocklington and also through various events at Driffield Junior School and Kilham Primary School.
The profits from our Fairtrade go to support the work in Malawi, more details on that work can be found here : Malawi Project.
Many thanks to everyone who continues to support Traidcraft through our church.
Just a reminder that Traidcraft sell a wide range of products - not just foods.
Traidcraft week runs from the 15th to the 21st of June, so what better time to have a look at, or take home, a catalogue? These are available at the back of church
(on the Traidcraft stall.)
